my name on your lips

2000

Public art project and video installation  (two channel with audio and wash line with bamboos and bed sheets)

Loop 4’44” / 33’10”

Variable dimensions

Maria, Pedro, John, Karin, Roland, Cristina… Names are remembered and murmured by lips filmed in close–up and then projected large onto bed sheets hung on a washing line, revealing a delicate exercise in remembrance and forgetfulness. At the passage of the millennium, Dias & Riedweg individually asked a number of people to close their eyes, try to remember and tell only the first names of everybody they had ever slept with. Small private confessions about the memory of sex were thus transformed into something repetitive and anonymously collective in the public sphere.
